Will Ed and Lorraine be in the nun 2? ›

The mid-credits scene of the movie sees the main Conjuring characters Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) receiving a call from Father Gordon, the character who facilitates many of their paranormal investigations.

There are descriptions of suicide, lots of blood, slashed skin, stabbing, dead bodies, burning bodies, a man is buried alive (but escapes), shooting, demonic possession and all that stuff. There is some strong language and drinking (wine, beer, etc.)

Expect to see creepy images, scary monsters, deaths, blood (including a corpse lying in a huge blood puddle), young girls in peril, characters on fire, and neck-snapping. Additionally, women are beaten, punched, and thrown; a woman is repeatedly beaten with a thurible; a girl is gored by goat horns; and more.

The Nun 2 ends with a climactic showdown between Irene and Valak in the chapel. Valak steals the Eyes of Saint Lucy from Irene and becomes more powerful than ever. Valak tries to kill Irene by setting her on fire, but Irene miraculously survives thanks to her faith and her connection to Saint Lucy.

However, the opening scene takes place at the infamous Amityville house, where Lorraine is drawn into a vision during a seance in which she directly encounters Valak for the first time and witnesses Ed being impaled. In Enfield, Lorraine eventually discovers that Valak has been behind the family's haunting all along.

The Nun was released in 2018, and it wasn't until 2023, 5 years later, that The Nun 2 arrived. There's not been confirmation yet that The Nun 3 is happening, but it's realistic to expect it in 2026 at the absolute earliest if it does, and even this is optimistic.

Valak appears in multiple forms throughout the Conjuring movies, mainly taking the shape of a Catholic nun with eerie features. However, it has also appeared as the Crooked Man and its original form, Valak the Defiler.

Principal photography began in October 2022 in France. The Nun II was released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on September 8, 2023. The film was a commercial success, grossing $269 million worldwide and received mixed reviews from critics.

The Nun 2 director Michael Chaves suggests that Lorraine and Irene are connected through a shared bloodline The Conjuring Universe, which is not just a coincidence since the characters are played by real-life sisters Vera and Taissa Farmiga.
