The most comfortable armor I've ever worn in LARP! It offers great flexibility and surprising comfort. Although the armor is designed for men, it's equally comfortable for small-breasted women!

We bought this pattern this time.
For a long time, we didn't make any serious projects out of it, we just made a prototype from a single-colored black leather, for which we designed a women's fantasy jacket with a military character.
First, I would like to show you our pictures of this project.

After measuring one of my kid's shirts I determined at what % I needed to print the pattern.
Having then taped and cut out the paper pattern I made a paper mock-up of the top-most parts for my kid to try on.
I decided that the finished product should be slightly too big for them because I didn't want them to outgrow it within weeks.

Because I own no leather-working tools or materials I used sewing materials. I cut the pieces out of Decovil (a non-woven iron-on interfacing with a sturdy, leather like handle); ironed them onto a quilted cotton jersey and cut that out with a seam allowance; folded under the seam allowance and whip-stitched it to the back of the Decovil.
Instead of riveting the pieces together I first added decorative studs where visible rivets would be and then sewed the pieces together at the relevant points. For closures I used velcro because that makes it easier for them to put it on and take it off by themselves.
Because the breastplate would be too big for them at the moment, I have not yet added all the pieces at the bottom.

The pattern is easy to use. I appreciated the YouTube video because it made planning my approach with slightly different materials much easier. I love that I was able to easily size the pattern to my needs.

This was a ton of fun to make and the end result is very impressive. The articulated design makes it surprising comfortable to wear and doesn’t impede motion much at all. I used a 8-9oz leather for everything, anything thinner would have too much flex for my taste. I used Chicago screws for every connection and added a carved skull to finish off the warrior theme!

My son and I have built this together and have both learned a ton. My son is learning the meaning of dedication because this suit has certainly required it! The patterns are exactly what we needed and the accompanying tutorial video was perfect. We're definitely going to finish out the series. Planning to make a suit for the dog also because every knight needs his trusty steed!

Great pattern. I can?t buy leather here so I?ve made a practice piece out of pleather and have ordered some leather from overseas. It went well. I struggled with the sizing a bit at first but we got there in the end. I couldn?t dye the pleather so I painted on the gold and used a permanent marker for the black.

Absolutely fantastic pattern, sizing can be a bit tricky but other than that it's perfect and easily adjusted or altered for your desired piece. And as an amateur the price may seem steep for a single piece but it is well worth it in the time you save making a pattern from scratch(trust me XD)

I had so much fun making this piece. It is the first major leather project I've made and it was well worth it. The template came together very nicely and is very well-designed with plenty of room to add a personal touch to it. I wish I had kept track of the hours I took to work on this, but I'd estimate it was probably somewhere between 25 and 35 hours. The people I've shown it to were very impressed. I'm super pumped about this and I'm excited to make the next piece in the armor set, whatever it is I decide to make!

This was a fantastic Pattern to work with. The flexibility both in design and once its built really are outstanding. I ended up creating 3 paper mock ups to get the size right, and adjusted the shape here and there to fit my body. Im 6"4" almost 300 pounds so I knew the standard scaling wasnt going to work for me. The process to resize was easy, and the build really straight forward with the help of the videos.
